June 16 and 17

These last two days we have been working with Iperio de Amor, one of the childrens homes about an hour away. We have been doing alot of concrete out there and digging holes for trees. The kids are really great. we took them to Chipinque today, which is on top of one of the mountains, and it has playgrounds and slides for the kids. we took them on a hike. I was pretty exahusted haha. It was a great day though. These last two nights of worship have been amazing. We had extended worship wed night, and I prayed with Cathy Huffer and Kathy Couch, two staff ladies. It was just incredible to be in the Spirit with them. Tonight I gave my testimony at worship. It was crazy how many people were there. I thak God for speaking through me. Tomorrow we hang out and chill!!! Sorry having trouble with pictures uploading. am trying to fix it!

June 15

Today we went to Imperio de amor with Rodo. We did some hole digging for trees neer the comodor, and another group poured a driveway with concrete. The sun was very hot today and ther was no shade. I think the temp was about 110 today. The kids were great today, they were helping me dig!! Darren one of the staff guys, and I walked down to a little tienda after we worked and got a pop. It was nice and cold! Vita cooked dinner tonight, it was some kind of noodles and beef with taco salid. It was interesting, and good. after worship we had small groups with the interns.

Kurt sammy and I began thinking a couple months ago about how we can become closer as interens. We began these small groups where we each meet with a different group of people each week. We are trying to create a more personal relationship between are intern team as a whole. It has been going very well. Kurt gave his testimony last week, and I am giving mine this week. God has just been so present in us all, and tonight the Spirit was just moving through us. It is great to just hang out with these people and get to know them better.

Today we took the kids from Caderayta to Fundidoria, which is an old industrial park turned into a community park. We did a vacation Bible school with the kids and we had games and skits. The kids loved it. We served the kids lunch, and then rented Bikes for them to ride. They had a blast. This evening we had the big tent Fiesta with all of our childrens homes. We made arachera which is like a skirt steak, and you cut it up and put it on Tacos. Very good. We made a ton of it for everyone. There was about 7-800 people on campus. Very Crazy, but fun!!

I got to see Juanita. Victoria was very happy to see her as well. They hung out most of the night. shes a cutie. we had worship with all of the kids, and many of the teens in our program came up and gave there testimonies. God was so present in all of our hearts tonight, and there testimonies show Gods presence in the testimony of our ministry here with the kids. God is so amazing, and unless you take the time and slow down, you will miss all that he has to offer you.

Today was my day off. I went to Douglas for church this morning. The service was great! The church was packed because of McCullums group. I ate lunch with Betty and her girls and also sabos. we ate some kind of chiken sandwich. it was pretty good. This afternoon I relaxed a bit, and did some decipleship with Steve. It was fun hanging out with him, and talking about the Lord!! vita cooked tacos for dinner. Very good! Sorry for the sort blog.

June 12

Today we had Steve Mcullum's group come. It was crazy. He usually brings about 90 people. This year he only has about 60. They bring a soccer ball for each kid we serve, along with 2 t shirts for each kid. They also bring all kinds of other cool stuff to. Doing donations is so crazy though!!! This morning we organized all our work trailers for the week, and also the bodega, which is out storage place for all our tools and equipment. It was a busy morning. We also had 2 other groups come as well, so we have about 150 more people on our campus. The kids from Douglas and Bethesda came today and we had a pool party. It was fun, and hectic at the same time.  Craig did a great job at worship tonight. The palapa was packed full! Tomorrow is my day off. We have church at Douglas!!

Happy Birthday Liz!!!!! Hope you had a Great day!!! Today I worked on the property again. we did some maintenance, and concrete work. I was very messy. Vita Cooked Tostatas for dinner! soo good. We had a hugh storm tonight and all the electricity went out for a couple hours. we all played games and just hung out, it was great fellowship!! I am up making videos for the groups tonight. Only five so not bad. They leave tomorrow. week one is just about over!

Today I worked on the property, and did alot of work projects. I fixed a swamp cooler and replaced the motor in another. I did some painting and repairs. Gabo took us to Altitas for Lunch. Kelly and Hannah came too. It was fun to catch up with them. Tonight at worship we did a prayer service with some of the staff. It was soo amazing to see Gods presence in our little Palapa. I meet with Greg and JJ and we just prayed together. The Holy Sprirt just came into our hearts and it changed us all. God works in so many ways, and it always amazes me when he shows us his Love through other people. It has been a blessing to serve with the other interns and get to know them. I cant tell you enough how much God has been working in us so far. It truly is a blessing to be serving God here in Monterrey, and to be walking with fellow Brothers and Sisters in Christ!

June 7 and 8

We went to Rio 3 on yesterday with Jim and Betty. It was a great day to really open up my own perspective. Although I have seen these places many times, it still changes me each time I encounter the situations of the people there. We stoped into a ladies house, no bigger than a walkin closet, and prayer with her and her mom. Her mom cut her anckle doing work and has a bandage on it but it wont heal because of the heat and unsanitary conditions. she is 82 years old and she is going blind as well. It is sad to see those situation, but you have to find God in all the crazyness of it. when we got back to the church we fed the kids and moms a meal, and then bought all the kids an ice cream. they were so happy and hyper!!

We are working on a multi purpose center next to the church for a larger worship space and also for the kids to have a safe place to hang out. The area is about 70 feet by 50 feet, and needs to be lowered baout 3 feet. so we began digging up the area and moving the dirt. it was crazy but we got alot of work done. still lots more to go!! some of the boys started to help us. I think they were just in it for the wheel barrow rides haha. They are good kids though. We ate at Pollo Loco for dinner! sooo good!

Today was my day off. It was relaxing to sleep in and get some laundry done. Shaun leaves tomorrow morning vewry early. It is sad to see him leave! we will miss him! Tonight we had some fellowship with the other interns. Kurt and I are trying to just bring us together more as a team, so we are meeting in groups once a week in addition to our week meeting as a whole. It was great to talk to the other interns and find out more about them and there personal walk with Christ.

Today we went to Douglas and did some work projects. It was the first official work day of the summer. The group we took is from Family Christian stores. They are the group that set up the James Fund and has funded several projects for B2B, including 2 of the hope houses. I worked on filling in some areas with dirt around the chapel. We put a bathroom in on the back of the chapel, and had to put in a septic tank. So we filled the area around it in dirt. We went to church this morning at douglas! It was great to see the excitment of the kids.

After church we cooked hamburgers for the kids, and then got to work. we did some plubling in the bathrooms, and some painting in the dorms. We have a couple of interns staying at Douglas this week to help out the encargadas, (caretakers). Kurt is one of them. We had some time to relax with the kids this afternoon. I hung out with Alexis, who is now 7 I think. That is Liz's favorite kid. she just needs to get down here so she can meet him haha. Love ya sis. Vita cooked tonight!!! Some kind of Beef and rice combo. Looked very weird but tasted great! Victoria went to Memes Rio today. She said she had a great time. They did a vacation Bible school with the kids. Off to Rio 3 Tommorrow with Jim and Betty!

Today we did alot of prep for th e groups. I fixed one of the swamp coolers in the main building and did some electrical work in the palapa. I had a great conversation with Cathy Huffer, staff member, today while I was changing a ballaster in the palapa. You could deffinatly tell that God was present. She was sweeping and I was up high working, and asked her for her help for a moment, and we got to talking. Alot of just Trusting Gods will and his plan for us, and not living in fear. We cant control what Tomorrow will us, but we can realize that we have a God so great, that he sent his only son to Die for Us.

The guys and I organized all the trailers so that we can take them out tomorrow. We had 3 groups come today, Northstar Vineyard, Family Christian stores and McAuley High School. All Girls. No guys in the groups! We had a pool party and cook out with the kids from Imperio de Amor. I got to see Julio Caeser. such a knukkle head. Never wants his picture taken, but I snagged one! Worship was great tonight with the groups!

Today we trained with all the inturns, and did a lot of prepartation for the first groups tomorrow. It was fun to get to know the other interns better, and to start working with them. We did a cook out tonight to do some practice, and we had the whole campus come and act like a group. Kurt and I cooked chicken for everone on the grill. It wasnt your tipical chicken, it was like chicken patties. Looked like burgers, but still tasted great! afterwards we did worship, and it was so great! Craig Aven isour worship leader this summer, and he does an awesome job. Tonight we had a hang out at the Couches house. They are staff parents for the boys in the David House. We watched Heavyweights, and of course I brought it haha. It was a great time of fellowship. Grandma I yelled BUDDY, just for you!!

June 3rd

Today we went to douglas in the morning and watched the kids while the encargadas had a meeting. It was so much fun to hang out with them and see them. I got to see David and Asiel Joseph. I pushed them in the swing for a while. Asile has the 3 silver teeth, and is so funny. he is only 3, and david is 2. David and gaby and Marcos all fell asleep in there swings. soo cute. Asiel is a snuggler. he just comes up to u and wants to be held and hugged on.

We went to a tacos stand with Jim for lunch. They were so good, and cheap! It was great hanging out with jim, and Kurt and Shaun! The inturns came this afternoon! It was great to see Victoria, and catch up!! We all had Pizza for dinner, I I know so Mexican!! haha. We played some get to know you games and had a great time. I think this is a great group of inturns and I am excited to serve with them this summer! Victoria is excited to be here! She hasnt stopped smilling since she got out of the van!! Tommorrow is all training and prep for the first groups!!!

Today we did alot of clean up on the property. I repaired 3 swamp coolers, which cool some of the dorms we have. It uses water and air, and the air runs through the water to cool the room. They work really well, and sometimes I wake up freezing at night. We use them alot in the childrens homes because they are not as expensive, and they are really effective in large areas like the kids dorms. We moved alot of bunk beds around also, to get ready for the groups coming on saturday. The inturns get here tomorrow. I am excited to see what God will do in all of our hearts this summer, and I know that this will be a great group of people. Victoria comes, and it will be great to spend the month of June serving along side of her! Please pray that she and the rest of the interns all have a safe flight!!!

Today we painted some more!!! yay!! haha. Just trying to get the property ready for the groups this summer. It is looking good, and I hope the groups are happy, cause Im tired of painting haha. Its hard work looking at a wall all day haha. Tomorrow is a bit more painting, but we are talking about going to Douglas for a bit to hang out with the kids. I cant wait to see david and asil Joseph! sorry for the short post, things will get more interesting I promise! Today we stayed on the campus and did some work for the summer. Kurt and I did more painting!! fun fun, my favorite, haha.. not really lol. But we had some good conversations and it was great to grow spiritually in our friendship! Another inturn from last summer , shaun, is here for 2 weeks, so he has been helping us out! It is great to see him and hang out with him! The other inturns get here on thursday!! I am excited to see some new faces and old ones as well. Victoria will be here then! I know she is so excited to be returning, and I am excited for her! God has already done many things in my heart this past week, and I know that he will do so many great things this summer in so many others!
