May 30

Today we went Douglas for church. The service was sooo great! They are having a Bible retreat there right now and we had so many people worshiping! God was soo present in the hearts of everyone, and it is so cool to see Gods light come out of this little church and spread throughout the city! The kids just love it there and it is such an amazing sight to see them worshiping and trusting in God! We picked up Pollo Loco for Lunch!!! wow sooo good! Then we went and saw the movie Prince of persia. We took some of the students here on campus. It was fun to hang out with them!!
Brendas Quinceiara was great. she looked beautiful, and she had a great time! My dancing skills need some help, but other than that I did ok, haha. we add Tacos for her dinner, and they were delicious! It started to rain as we began to eat, and didnt let up all night! Brenda and her friends all changed and then went out and danced in the rain. Kurt and I decided to join, and we got pretty wet! It was an awesome night and Brenda was so happy!
Here are some videos of Jim and Kevin, here dad and Brother and also Me.

May 27

This morning the rain stoped and the sun came out!! The mountians were so clear!! Kurt and I Painted the bathrooms in dorms 5 and 6 today. They are not as big, but still a task. Vita cooked lunch and it was soo good! She made hamburgers but they were very different. Not a McDonalds haha. Today was the lasst day of school for all the staff kids, so they were all running around happy. We use the school, SMCA, durring the summer as dorm rooms for groups, so this afternoon we began to clean out the school stuff to get them reading for the summer.
We have two pools on our property for cook outs with the childrens homes. Last year we didnt open the one on the far property, just because it is hard to maintain them both during the summer. It became pretty nasty. This summer we plan to use them both, and the staff and jovens have been working to get the one pool all back in shape. they repainted the inside and put up a new fence. We are in the middle of reding the bathrooms, which are 25 years old, and we are also putting in a grill for cookouts with the kids.
This evening we went to Alitas with Jim and Betty and 3 of there 5 kids! It was great to hang out and eat with them! We went to douglas afterward for church. It was great! Joseph came over and sat with me, and he put his head on my shoulder. All thses kids want is some Love and comfort. They are so deprived od that and it kills me to see them like this. Joseph has the cutest little one grunt laugh, and he loves to just sit in you lap and hold onto you!!!
Hey Lynn, yea that is Kurt, being his usual crazy self lol.

May 26

Today we went to CHD again and got the boys ready for school. I did get some pictures!!!! The two boys sleeping are Joseph and David. Such cuties!!! The rest of the day, Kurt and I painted the bathrooms in Dorm one and two. These are our biggest dorms, and get used the most. We renovated the bathrooms, and put new tile in, and it looks great. The old tile was about 20 years old and cracking. It was a little fuimy because of the oil base paint, but it was a productive day! Lynn the showers are much better haha. they look very good, and well painted I have to say. I will take a pic tomorrow when we get all the plastic up. Vita cooked tostatas tonight and boy were they good. I have been missing her great food!!! worship was awesome tonight. we had a prayer service, and it was so relaxing. God was soo present, and it was great to see everyone worshiping together!!
Wow Grandama I am very proud of you!!! Miss you and Grandpa!
Thanks everyone for the comments, It is great to hear from you all!!

Today Kurt and I went to CHD at 6:30 this morning, and got the kids dressed for school. we fed them some breakfast and cleaned them up a bit. the little guys are so cute. after the kids left for school, we stayed and watched the prescool kids while Lulu, there encargada (caretaker) went to the dentist. iIt was soo much fun to just hang out with kids and play! There are four brothers that are from Del Norte, that are now at CHD, and 2 of the boys are 2 and 3. They are the cutest kids ever!!! There names are David and Joseph. Joseph is only 3 and he already has 3 gold teeth haha. If you ask me Lulu should have taken him to the dentist as well! This afternoon we went to the staff retreat and went over this summers theme, Hunger. I will go into more detail later. We split up into guys and girls, and all the staff guys talked. It was a great opportunity to unite and learn more about the staff guys, and there spiritual journey with Christ. We had worship tonight, and it was fantastic. Craig is back down for the summer and he did a great job as usual leading. he played his new song Latter Rain, which goes along with our theme for summer!
It was a great day, it did rain all day. but it cooled of the place and is filling our well. Sorry I forgot my camera today, and didnt get any pics of the kids. no worries I get lots for you all!!

Leaving May 24

Hey Everyone!!! I am excited to be returning to monterrey on Monday!! Thank you for following me this summer, and thank you to you all for supporting me finacialy and through prayer!! I will update my blog daily, and also upload pictures and videos as well!! Please keep me in your prayers this summer, as I continue to do what I feel God has called me to do! I love these kids soo much, and I am proud to be serving with Back2Back again this summer, to care for these kids!!! Please keep Victoria in your prayers as well, she will be inturning the month of June. You can check out her blog on the current trip page of my website.
I would like to challenge you this summer to take a step out of your comfort zone, and do something truly out of this world. This will be different for each and every person, but you will be surprised at what God will do in your heart, but more importantly what God will do in others! I also challenge you in your prayer, to take a step back and listen God. I am constantly asking God for things and telling him about other things, that I never take the time to sit back and just listen to what he says. I am always amazed at what I learn, and God speaks to us in many ways. Usually never the way we think he will.
Keep your heart open this summer, because you never know when God is going to surprise you with something amazing!!
Thank you all again!!
